Chinese fans matter, and not just as a number on a DAU chart. When Chinese players show up for something, they show up in droves. The Black Myth: Wukong precedent makes this obvious. That game pulled 10M Chinese players and brought a wave of first-time Steam buyers with it. The ceiling is enormous.

Which is why the Forza Horizon 6 China launch looking like an afterthought is so frustrating. Pricing it out of reach, breaking the Xbox App experience, and then not putting a single BYD or Nio in the game? Come on. China has one of the most exciting domestic car industries on the planet right now. BYD alone would have been a talking point. It writes itself.

The review bombing is a symptom. The actual problem is that someone at Xbox clearly did not think China was worth the extra planning. And that is a strategic miss, not just a PR one.

Fix the pricing. Fix the infrastructure. Put some CDM iron in the game. The audience is still there and they will respond.
